TEST & KEEP — Become a product tester for a laser measurement sensor with IO-Link
Panasonic wants to build on the successful product tester campaign from 2015 and allow users to thoroughly test the IO-Link capable laser measurement sensor.

TEST & KEEP – Become a product tester

  • Request for free the new HG-C laser measurement sensor with IO-Link
  • Put the sensor to the acid test and check its operational reliability
  • Test the sensor in a real industrial environment
  • Take part and become a member of our testing community

Panasonic wants to build on the successful product tester campaign from 2015 and allow users to thoroughly test the IO-Link capable laser measurement sensor.

Compared to the standard version of the HG-C measurement sensor, which outputs the distance as an analog voltage or current value, the new HG-C series is able to transmit the measurement values via IO-Link. With IO-Link, it is possible to read out measurement values and also to configure the sensors via remote control.

To put the concept behind Industry 4.0 into practice, the IO-Link sensor also offers a self-diagnosis function. This function can detect the light intensity and short circuits and inform about the state of the sensor. When a sensor has to be replaced, IO-Link ensures that the settings necessary for the application are transmitted to the new sensor.

Become a product tester

All European companies or professionals working within the field of industrial production can apply to become a product tester. Applications from people with an adequate technical background or companies with a concrete application which allows them to test the product in the field are also welcome.

At the end of the testing phase, the product testers fill out a questionnaire to document and summarize their results and experiences with the sensor. The feedback will be summarized and the resulting ideas, requests, and experiences will be integrated in the future development of products.

What is the sensor used for?

Here are some application examples:

  • Thickness and position control of continuous material like paper, rubber or metal foils
  • Color-independent orientation detection
  • Presence and position control of caps
  • The PLC stores the sensor parameters. The parent system ensures the correct configuration of the sensor.
  • Several sensor settings can be configured together. The setting parameters are stored externally.

Why become a product tester?

Product testers will learn how triangulation in the field of optical sensors works. You will receive technical support from product specialists on how to solve your application. The aim is that the sensor will undergo extensive tests in real applications under industrial conditions. After the evaluation, the sensor remains in your possession for free.

Your feedback will be appreciated

Install and test the sensor in an application where high speed, high measurement repeatability, and object detection under difficult condition are important. Afterwards you fill in a questionnaire so that we are able to evaluate your experience with our product.

How can you apply to become a product tester?

To apply for the “Panasonic Product Tester Program”, please fill in the application form or contact a member of our sales team. For further information, please send an email to sensors.peweu@eu.panasonic.com  or contact one of our local offices.

Panasonic Industry InfoHub – useful links and downloads for automation devices and solutions
With the all-new InfoHub, Panasonic Industry launched a free online portal that contains programming libraries, documentation, and downloads

Pinpoint detection with the HG-F laser distance sensor
Panasonic Industry presents the new laser distance sensor HG-F, that can detect reliably at distances of up to 3m using ToF (Time of Flight) technology. This means that the sensor can also be installed at some distance from the object to be measured so that employees or the movement radius of cobots or robot arms can operate freely.

Customization for automation products by Panasonic Industry
Advanced customer value: Panasonic Industry offers a comprehensive customization portfolio for automation products.

Panasonic Industry Europe and Panasonic Electric Works Europe have merged to create stronger business partner for its customers
Panasonic Industry Europe is announcing that Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH (PIEU) and Panasonic Electric Works Europe AG (PEWEU) have successfully merged as of 1st October 2022.

First Motion Controller GM1 launched by Panasonic Industry
With up to 32 axis synchronized torque control, the GM1 offers a compact solution for complex motion control applications.

Competence on site
Laboratories and service centers are the nucleus of technological innovations - and ultimately guarantee customized solutions across all industries: Why the Customer Experience Center on the Panasonic Campus in Munich, with its bundled development and service competence, is the center for high technology that creates concrete added value.

Panasonic Industry adds high-current or high-voltage output models to its lineup of APV
Modern industrial automation solutions, energy systems and professional equipment are often extremely specialized devices that require high safety and design flexibility for switching elements like semiconductor relays. A photovoltaic driver for galvanic separation in combination with a distinct MOSFET power switch leaves nothing to be desired.

New 6A super flat safety relay SFM
The new 1a1b SFM series is the next step towards the future of safety relay technology. The flat design with a low height of only 7.8mm allows safety application to become smaller than ever before, whilst the reflow soldering capability of SFM makes use of the latest soldering technologies, which helps to save money in the production process.

Optical laser micrometers HG-T series
The HG-T laser thru-beam sensors work like optical micrometers that can measure with µm precision even over large distances. The sensor head works with a laser belt with a width of 10mm. The laser belt allows the high-precision monitoring of wide webs, for example in the printing industry. The series consists of easy-to-use laser measurement devices with many features for customers. Panasonic is thus responding to the needs of the market and the ever-increasing demands on technology, thus adapting the tried-and-tested HL-T1 laser series at many points.

HMx700 touch terminals
The developments in the current industrial revolution call for communication between man and machine in all areas. To ensure successful networking, the control panel of the machine, which serves as a communication interface, is of vital importance.

New PaPIRs low profile motion sensor enables maximum application miniaturization
The degree of automation is continuously growing in all fields of our environment. Everybody enjoys the comfort of intelligent light switching, automatic door opening or presence-based climatic controls. The next step certainly is to minimize the visibility of the technology itself.

IO-Link for safety light curtains
With the development of the SF4D safety light curtain series, Panasonic has once again proven the quality of their automation products: The SF4D has been adopted very fast and successfully in various industries.
