New offer of professional solders by STANNOL
Safe and lead-free soldering materials available in the TME catalogue.

New solders by STANNOL available in the TME catalogue

  • ALU1 series o HF3 series
  • Kristall 600 and 611 series
  • Trilence 2708 and 3505 series
  • WS2413 series o ZV16 series
  • Other STANNOL products

Modern manufacturing processes in the field of electronics as well as repair works in a professional setting require using solders that are safe for human health and lead-free. Unfortunately, lead-free solders require higher operating temperatures and are less versatile. What is more, their fluxes often contain aggressive corroding substances that have to be removed after the mounting process is finished, which translates into a longer PCB manufacturing process (even in the case of robotic manufacturing systems).

Leading solder manufacturers are here to help and a German brand STANNOL is an excellent example. The laboratories of this company develop special alloys of soldering materials as well as innovative fluxes that allow to simplify and accelerate the process of soldering electronic components. Products by this manufacturer are dedicated to both automated production lines and manual works that are performed in repair services and in low-expenditure manufacturing of electronic circuits (internal projects, personalised parts etc.). STANNOL offers solders that are modern, safe for human health and convenient to use.

New solders by STANNOL available in the TME catalogue

Below, we present an overview of new solders in the TME catalogue. These are specialist products designed for diverse manufacturing processes. They include materials used in the soldering of aluminium and components with highly oxidised surface as well as solders for works at a relatively low temperature. Most of the presented products contain fluxes that leave a small amount of non-corrosive residue and are classified as no-clean products.

ALU1 series

The ALU1 solder is used to bind aluminium components together. Thanks to the alloy with high content of tin (with copper additive) and flux (3.5%), SW26 allows to solder at temperatures from 350°C to 400°C. In order to achieve optimal results, the soldered parts should be pre-heated to 250°C. Despite its unusual properties, it leaves traces of residue and is qualified as a no-clean product. The manufacturer emphasises that when it comes to working with large-sized components (such as aluminium pipes/profiles), a soldering iron and soldering station are not optimal tools. Inductive devices and precision torches are a better choice for such tasks. The ALU1 solder is available in spools weighing 250g and as a wire with a diameter of 1mm or 2mm.

Solder created to bind aluminium components together.

HF3 series

The HF32 series was developed with strict international standards in mind.

The solder was developedin compliance with strict standards (such as DIN EN 29454) and is classified as ROL0 according to the IEC 61190-1-3 standard (0% of halides, low activity of the flux that is based on organic acids). It is characterised by small amount of fumes released during the soldering process. The products from the series leave traces of dry and hard residue without corrosive properties (it can be optionally removed for visual or electromechanical reasons). The manufacturer recommends the HF3 solders both for manual and mechanical soldering, with the use of automatic solder feeders, in manufacturing and repair works as well as resoldering, also with surface-mounted components. The products are lead-free and come in the form of wires with 1mm and 1.5mm diameters.

Kristall 600 and 611 series

The Kristall family of products is a flagship group of STANNOL soluions. Kristall 600 is a solder dedicated primarily to traditional, manual repair works. It allows to bind copper, brass and pre-tinned components together. At the same time, the product is free of halides and lead, and its flux is based on synthetic resin (it is free of rosin). One of its advantages is good wettability (low surface tension of the solder) achieved at temperatures exceeding 280°C. The best soldering results are achieved in a thermal range from 340°C to 360°C. It should be emphasised here that the manufacturing process of Kristall involves using components that meet the FAIRTIN standards established by STANNOL, which means that they come from environmentally friendly sources provided by companies that ensure good working conditions for their employees.

The Kristall series consist of lead-free solders suited to manual soldering.

The Kristall 611 solders have similar features, however, they were created to speed up the soldering processes, thanks to which they meet the requirements of the manufacturing (machine) applications. Their composition reduces a negative impact of the flux fumes on human health (they also have only a subtle smell). Products from both series are available in 250g and 500g spools, with diameters from 0.5mm to 1mm.

Trilence 2708 and 3505 series

The 500g spool suitable for applications in machine manufacturing of circuits.

The Trilence solders contain halides (0.5% and 0.7%). Their purpose is to adapt the series to be used in the majority of machine manufacturing processes that use soldering tips, inductive systems or laser beams. The FLOWTIN technology based on high-activity fluxes with silver additives in the alloy allowed the manufacturer to obtain relatively low (comparing with a typical lead-free solder) operating temperatures in the range from 217°C do 227°C. The Trilence series is characterised by an excellent melting range, leaving a transparent residue only in the spots where they are soldered (flux splashing is reduced). Apart from typical wire diameters (0.5…1mm), the solder is also available in 1.2 mm diameter, primarily in 500g spools.

WS2413 series

WS2413 are among the “most aggressive” solders offered by STANNOL. They are based on water-soluble fluxes that contain halides. Their purpose is to facilitate working with components whose surface has been or might have been oxidised. Even though the products are primarily dedicated for soldering parts made of copper, brass or tinned, they can be used with almost every metal (excluding stainless steel and aluminium). The ECOLOY TC formula allows to obtain mechanically resistant connections with a low electrical resistance while applying the operating temperature of 227°C. Due to the corrosive properties of the flux, the manufacturer recommends cleaning the circuit of any residue (it can be easily removed in a water bath).

The WS2413 solder allows to solder highly oxidized surfaces.

ZV16 series

The ZV16 solders leave a soft residue that can be removed mechanically.

The ZV16 solders were designed for safe and effective precision work. These are soldering wires with diameters from 0.5mm to 1mm equipped with a core with flux (1.6% of weight) that is free of halides and containing activators based on organic acids and chemically modified resins (reducing the negative impact of rosin fumes). The residue after the mounting process is soft and can be removed using an ESD brush, which means that the solder is classified as a no-clean product. The products are excellent for works requiring precision, SMD systems as well as repairing and manufacturing the PCB circuits in a trough-hole and surface-mounting technology.

Other STANNOL products

Finally, it should be emphasised that the full STANNOL portfolio available in our catalogue comprises a high number of products. These are lead-free solders in the form of wires with a 0.3mm – 2mm diameter, designed for soft soldering. They are characterised by a low content or lack of halides; in most cases they don’t require cleaning after the mounting process (no-clean) and they were classified in compliance with the European EN 29454 standard. The solders offered by STANNOL are perfectly adapted both to machine manufacturing processes and manual soldering performed as a part of maintenance services. The majority of STANNOL product in the TME catalogue are available directly from our warehouses, which allows us to maximally reduce the delivery time. Check our offer at the link below.
