Anritsu Supports Verification of “Intercarrier Roaming in Emergency” Function for Mobile Devices that Maintain Network Connectivity During Disasters
Anritsu Company is proud to announce that its 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR supports Technical Standard Certification* tests of the "Intercarrier Roaming in Emergency" function, facilitating emergency communications in Japan during disasters causing disrupted communications. By supporting tests of this function, the ME7834NR enables device manufacturers and carriers to efficiently implement and certify Intercarrier Roaming in Emergency.
The Intercarrier Roaming in Emergency function allows mobile devices to connect automatically to other carriers' network when the contract carrier's network is unavailable due to a disaster, enabling calls and communications without requiring manual re-settings.
This function is a key technology for ensuring emergency communications directly impacting people’s lives, and Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is scheduled to enforce a ministerial ordinance governing its use from October 1, 2025.
Anritsu will contribute to a stable and safe society by providing reliable measurement solutions that ensure secure communications.
